Abigale Miller bio
Abigale Lee
Mills (born September 21, 1965) was an American dance instructor, choreographer
and reality television host. Abby Lee Dance Company is her idea, and it was on
for eight seasons of Dance Moms. On June 27, 2016, Miller pleaded guilty to the
charge of felony bankruptcy fraud. She was sentenced for one year and one day
in federal prison, and released on March 27, 2018. In April 2018 she was
diagnosed with lymphoma, a form of cancer that caused her to be unable to walk.
She is confined to a wheelchair for mobility. Miller was a dancer in her early
years in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, an Pittsburgh suburb. She attended classes
under the direction of her mother at the Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. In 1980,
at age 14 years old, Miller was given the task of to choreograph and coach one
of the dance teams of her mother. Miller eventually took over the studio in
1995 , and changed its name to it Reign Dance Productions. Miller became
certified by Dance Masters of America and was a member of Dance Masters of
Pennsylvania Chapter #10 in 1986, however, her membership was ended in February
2012, with DMA saying that Miller's show on reality TV Dance Moms was "a
total misrepresentation of our dance instructors and their students , and is
detrimental to the dance profession."
