 Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub of the United States is an actress as well as a comedian and activist. Her birthplace was in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents and started her career as an actor as a child just after moving to the United States. Vayntrub is also the voice of Squirrel girl on Marvel Rising since 2018, after being cast in the unaired television pilot New Warriors. Vayntrub was born in Tashkent, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR, and is Jewish. She and her parents left antisemitism at the age of two. They settled in West Hollywood. Her family's financial troubles resulted in her appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials from the age of 5. Vayntrub attended Beverly Hills High School briefly however she quit after her second year. She then obtained the GED and graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in Communication at the University of California, San Diego. As part of the Upright Citizens Brigade she studied improv comedy.
